Hello, my name is Caroline, and I am a sugar addict.
Originally from Atlanta, I moved to Washington, DC ten years ago after completing my undergraduate studies at Vanderbilt University. I quickly got sucked into the political arena, working on Capitol Hill and downtown representing various trade associations and corporations before Congress. While exciting at times, I decided that I needed a life change and made the bold decision to quit my job in hopes of pursuing a career that I am passionate about and allows creativity. Now, I just have to figure out what exactly that is…
I have always enjoyed baking as a home chef, and in my opinion, dessert should be mandatory at all meals. After taking a number of recreational cooking classes, I thought I could turn my love of sweet treats into a career. Now that I have that figured out (whew!), step two is to start a blog about my journey to become a pastry chef.
When I am not in the kitchen, you may find me working in my garden, volunteering at the Smithsonian, or taking some type of exercise class (hey, I have to burn off all of the sweets!). My husband, Chris, and I are huge foodies and have been known to enjoy a nice bottle of wine. We live in Alexandria, Virginia with our two pups, Olive and Stella.
